This week we nearly got side-swiped by another car (obviously not looking where they were going because there's a stop sign right by our house). I was slowly inching out of our driveway when...
Me: WHOA!
5-year-old daughter: What, Mommy?
Me: We just almost got hit.
5-year-old daughter: Why?
Me: Well, that car was driving way too fast and not watching for other people.
5-year-old daughter: Hmm, they must think they're more important than us.

And another day while I'm working around the house my son approaches me, grinning ear-to-ear.
3-year-old son: (clear as day) Mommy, you a dickhead.
Me (in shock since we DO NOT use that language): WHAT?!
5-year-old daughter: Yeah mommy, you're a brick-head.
Me: (relieved that he was just copying big sister): Oh. Ha! Ha!

Love these! Your five year old is very wise about those speeding cars that don't think of others. The brickhead one is priceless:)
Oh that's good--I could see the second one happening at our house in a few years. I've already had moments where Caleb says something and I'm like, "What did you say?" because it certainly sounded like a swear word. All too soon I'm sure it will be!
ROTFL glad your daughter was there to clarify hehe
Oh my gosh! That must have come as a shock! My mum tells a story of hearing some kid yelling obscenities outside and her being appalled. Eventually after hearing this young voice yelling the "f" word over and over she decided to go check out what was going on, she was concerned her young son would hear it. But then she noticed it *was* her young son who was yelling bad words! They still don't know to this day where he learned it from. He was only 3 at the time.
These were hilarious! :)
Your daughter's first comment was very perceptive. Those selfish people everywhere!
Hahaha! Once a student of mine called his mother (what we both could have sworn was:) a "whore" in the middle of a lesson!!! The next week she made sure to clarify that after some very serious discussion in the car on the way home, he revealed that he'd intended to say "horror" and his southern accent got in the way ;) Still a bit sassy, but muuuuuch better than the alternative interpretation!
Oh kids certainly will say the darndest things! Your daughter is correct - and I am glad that an accident was avoided. When my 25 year old son was four years old, he asked a waitress if "he could have some more butter, b*tch!" I wanted to crawl under the table, and just lay there forever. I have no idea where he learned that word! And now he is awaiting the birth of his firstborn child...and I have told him that what goes around comes around...ah, never a dull moment! Enjoy!
LOL LOL LOL Your almost car accident conversation has my husband and me cracking up because it sounds like something our 6 year old would say! Oh and I would be shocked, but probably laughing too hard if my toddler called me a "dickhead" LOL LOL
These are great! Thank you for stopping by and visiting me.
I hope you are doing well.

have the best day ever would ya!
That is TOOOOOO funny!
That's great. I especially like the first one. It always cracks me up to here kids turn our own words around on other people with just that slight "offness" that makes it so sweet and amusing.
Hi Shaye!
Yep, entered my link....am I supposed to do that everytime I post my Tot Talk Tuesday?
Later

LOL, too funny!
These were so cute! Once when we were little my brother announced to the entire church congregation that he was glad we stopped saying the "F" word at our house. My parents were mortified and eventually my mother got up and clarified that the "F" word was "Fat cow"! Kids are the best!
