This week I'm participating in the new weekly meme started by Niecey at The Monkeys and Me. To join in, just click the image above and follow the rules. I'm so glad Niecey started this meme, because I'd like to record more of the adorable saying I hear from my children each day.
This week's quote is very special because it came right after my daughter's very first independent bicycle ride without training wheels. So first, check out the 15 second video below:
Immediately after I say "ALRIGHT!" she hops off her bike, turns around, and excitedly explains her success by hollering: "I've been listening to my mommy and daddy!"
I seriously could have kicked myself (if my foot hadn't been injured, that is) for having stopped this video just 5 seconds too early. That would have been SO great to have on tape, dontcha think?! LOL
Oh yeah, too bad you didn't catch it on video--you could pull it out everytime she doesn't listen and say, "Hey, you said you listen to mommy and daddy!" :-) Still, too cute.
That is great! I would love to participate in this meme but my issue is I can never remember ... I know several times this week things were said that I wanted to write down but didn't! Darn it!
@Amy~ Yeah, I actually got out some paper and started jotting things down. You start noticing everything they say when you commit to blogging about it. :)
@Niecey~ Thank YOU for creating this meme. Too much fun!
That is GREAT!!! The other Day I was getting after Kyle for running in the mud with his clean shoes on~that I had JUST WASHED( he was ready to go on the Alaska trip with Dad) So he tells me, "but Kailee was chasing me, mom I had to run." and I said well, if you don't run then she doesn't have anything to chase now does she? And he thinks a minute and says... "I never thought of that... " Loved it!!
Great video! She's a pro now:) I just helped my kindergartner with his first no training wheel bike ride. He is thrilled with this accomplishment. I love her quote too!
I’m a joyful woman who wears many hats, including: wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, granddaughter, cousin, friend, teacher, librarian, and follower of Christ. I’m also an ex-public school teacher turned SAHM turned unschooling mom. Our little midwestern family is tremendously grateful for the liberties we have to home school, homebirth, breastfeed, co-sleep, baby wear, non-circ, delay or not vaccinate, and utilize non-punitive, grace-based discipline. We work hard to keep up with the ins and outs of healthy living. It was painful, but we took the red pill and still continue to find new truths daily. I teach just a few short-courses for the local college each year, read and write book reviews and blog on the side. And if you must know, I have an undergrad in music (BA), a masters in library science (MLS), and a masters in educational technology (MEd).

So neat! And what a way to finish the ride! Wonder what was going through her mind to say that after her first bike ride???? ♥♥♥
My hope for you is that she always listens to you both so well!! :)
That was so sweet! I love her name, BTW! It feels so good when we actually hear and witness something that proves our kids really DO listen to us!
It's wonderful when kids say things like that.
That would be awesome to have on tape! Punky once said on tape that she was going to give us all her money when she got older. Priceless.
Great video.
